Incursions

Our incursions consist of demonstrations and teaching around the 5 pillars of culture. We use the acronym S.L.A.M.D:

  • Story Telling: The stories of creation and map the land, guiding movement, culture, and connection across generations.

  • Language: Language is at the heart of Aboriginal culture, holding the wisdom of ancestors, shaping identity, and keeping cultural knowledge alive.

  • Art: Aboriginal art expresses identity, 'Dreaming' stories, and deep connections to land and community through symbols, patterns, and vibrant colour.

  • Music: Traditional music, often featuring instruments like clapsticks and the didgeridoo, plays a central role in ceremonies, teaching, and cultural expression.

  • Dance - Aboriginal dance is a powerful form of storytelling, used to pass down knowledge, celebrate culture, and connect with country and ancestors.

The Children learn about Aboriginal Culture in an engaging and hands on manner.

Every Incursion incorporates these pillars throughout.

From reading Indigenous stories (including dreamtime stories) to creating group and individual art projects that utilise Indigenous art styles and techniques. Dance and music are an integral part of every incursion. Learning and performing basic animal dances to didgeridoo music.

Incursions start at $400 per class with discounts for multiple classes throughout the year. Contact us for more information.
